Robyn along with her family designed and built Tarragindi  Child Care & Development in 1993.  Then later in 2007 designed and built Prior Street Child Care & Development.

Robyn is a qualified teacher holding a Diploma of Education. She identified back in 1993 when opening Tarragindi Child Care & Development the community’s need for high quality care and education in a long day care setting. Since then Robyn has been carefully selecting professional, qualified educators (including Early Childhood Teachers) to ensure a welcoming, professional centre is maintained; while also upholding her philosophy of dedication to  quality care and education.

Robyn is very hands on in the operation of the centre, readily available to support the staff and families.

Director / Nominated Supervisor

Monica joined Tarragindi Child Care & Development in 2009.

Initially Monica completed a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) and started working immediately in child care, moving very quickly to the role of Director.  She recognised that child care was moving into a new era and went back to part time study, completing a Graduate Diploma of Education (Educational Management).

Monica has previously worked in a small number of centres, in a variety of positions, including a role as a mentor to other Directors.

She had sometime away from the industry to have 2 children.

Monica is always willing to learn new skills and is committed to quality  improvement through continued professional development.

Her greatest reward is being able to support a strong, committed team.

Operations Manager

Angela  first commenced working at Tarragindi Child Care & Development in 1995 as the kindergarten teacher. She moved to Carina Heights Child Care & Development in 1999  taking on the role as centre Director through until 2008, before moving to the role of Operations Manager for both this centre and Prior Street Child Care and Development.

She holds a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and Bachelor of Education; is a Registered Teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers, as well as holding a Food Safety Supervisor qualification. Angela also holds a Certified Supervisor Certificate.

Angela’s role sees her visiting both our centres across the week to support management and staff in the HUGE task of operating a long day child care and development centre.

Human Resources Manager

Louise  played a vital role in setting up and establishing Prior Street Child Care and Development, working hard to meet the opening date in January of 2007. She originally commenced work as the preschool teacher at Tarragindi Child Care & Development in 2000. December 2015 saw Louise stepping into her new role as Human Resources Manager.

Louise is a registered teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers, holds a Bachelor of Teaching and a Bachelor of Education Studies.  She has diverse education experience working in the Early Childhood sector as well as primary schools in Australia and the UK.

Louise’s role will see her visit both our centres across her week. Her role is to support management and staff to maintain quality care and education.

Educational Leader

Amy who holds a Bachelor of Children’s Services, a Diploma of Community Services (Children’s Services) & a Certificate 3 in Community Services (Children’s Services) has previously worked at our Prior Street and Carina Heights centres.  She has extensive experience in managing early childhood centres, while being very creative – knowledge and skills which we are fortunate she can apply when supporting the centre community via her administration role.

Joey's Room

Stacey holds an Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management, a Diploma in Children’s Services, a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and a Certificate of Dance Teaching; added to this – experience working with children since 1998 and 5 beautiful children of her own.  After selling her Dance School in 2011, Stacey discovered that she wanted to continue working with children.  She joined Tarragindi Child Care & Development in 2012 working with the babies. In the Joeys room, working with fellow educators, has created a place where children feel comfortable and confident to learn and to develop and express themselves. Stacey believes in building relationships with the children and families – being a part of their journey in the early years.  Friendships are the essence of relationships and it all starts within a child’s early years.  Stacey feels it a privilege and an honour to be part of a child’s earliest memories.  She also believes each child is a unique individual, developing at their own pace – this enhanced through play. Stacey takes great pride in providing children with the highest quality care and education, and providing parents with peace of mind as she supports their children to explore their environments and assist them on their learning journey.
Yan (Emma) joined Tarragindi Child Care and Development in 2020 after moving back to Brisbane from Sydney. Emma began her early childhood experience in 2017 after finishing a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services. She completed a Diploma of Children’s Service while she working.

Yan (Emma) enjoys sharing her Chinese culture – this is where she was born and raised.

When working with children in the early childhood years, she enjoys supporting children’s learning and exploring. She aims to create a fun-filled, caring, playful, multicultural, and interesting environment where children find comfort and happiness.

Priya, after commencing at  Prior Street Child Care &  Development in 2011, came to work at Tarragindi Child Care & Development as a support educator in 2012.  She is a great support assisting with all groups across the centre.  Priya, who holds a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services, has further experience caring for and guiding children through her Church and in her role as a Priest’s wife  (since 1994). She has experience as a cultural support worker for the Multicultural Development Association in Brisbane. You’ll find Priya each afternoon in the Joey room.

Possum's Room

Anika who holds a Diploma of Early Childhood and is currently studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood joined our centre in 2019, following 5 years in the early childhood sector.  She has worked in various roles including Assistant Educator, Lead Educator and Educational Leader. In November 2019, Anika joined us after returning to work from 12 months maternity leave. When not caring and having fun with children, Anika is with her family making memories and visiting the beach, park and zoos.

Elisa who joined TCCD in 2020 has been working in early childhood education in Australia since 2018. From her country of origin, Italy, she holds a 5-year qualification in Health and Social Services (Including studies of psychology, children’s’ development, as well as disability care and ages care); while in Australia she has completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.  Elisa has mostly worked with toddlers, however, she has experience with all ages across the early years.

Elisa loves to learn and believes the children teach her more than she can teach them – this is why she loves children as they are raw and authentic.

Keiko initially joined our Prior Street centre in 2015 after completing a Diploma of Children’s Services.  She then came to Tarragindi Child Care and Development in 2016 upon her return from maternity leave.
Keiko enjoys sharing her Japanese culture – this is where she was born and raised.
When working with children in the early childhood years, she feels glad to be involved in supporting children’s learning and development.  She aims to create a warm welcoming place where children find comfort and security.

Emu's Room

Natsuko joined Tarragindi Child Care and Development in 2018. Being Japanese, she’s a great support to the centre as we seek to immerse the children in Japanese.  Nat, who holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, has worked with young children since 2014.  At home she keeps busy with three children of her own and enjoys taking them to the beach.

Erina joined Tarragindi Child Care & Development in 2021. She was born and raised in Japan. She has over 10 years of experience in retail as she loves fashion in Japan and Australia. She is currently studying towards a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

From a young age she dreamed of being a teacher, now she has a passion for children and seeing them grow and achieve many milestones in their life. At home she keeps busy with her little boy and enjoys taking a dip in the ocean. She loves to explore nature.

Koala's Room / Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program

Vanessa joined Tarragindi Child Care & Development in 2012, where before joining the koala room in 2020, she worked in lead educator roles with our Joey, Possum, Emu and After School Care groups.  Vanessa holds both a Certificate 3 and Diploma in Children’s Services – she is studying a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood). Vanessa loves to create a warm, happy, welcoming environment for everyone; also ensuring the needs of each child are met through working closely with families. Within the environment she aims to create a space that sparks a sense of awe, wonder and discovery.
Wendy joined Tarragindi Child Care and Development in 2016.  She works both at our centre and at our Prior Street centre, using her extensive early childhood knowledge and teaching experience to support and implement the Kindergarten program.  Wendy holds a Bachelor of Arts (Communication Studies) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Early Childhood); she is passionate about contributing to the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of young children.
Alana who holds a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services, and a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate joined Tarragindi Child Care & Development in 2010. She holds two roles within the centre, working both as an educator in the Koalas room (Monday – Wednesday) and then Thursday and Friday works in our kitchen as the Food Safety Supervisor. Alana enjoys the individual personalities along with the friendships she makes with each child. She feel humbled that she has had the opportunity to be a part of a child’s development and personally strives to always be the best role model and teacher she can be – to help each child grow to their full potential.

Finn joined Tarragindi Child Care and Development in 2018. He is presently studying a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services.  

After School Care

Marianna joined Tarragindi Child Care and Development in 2013 after having completed 2 years of a Bachelor of Education. Unsure of what to do next she arrived at Tarragindi and quickly found a place with After School Care. With the help of the ASC team; and with LOTS of input from the children themselves, Marianna offers fun and exciting experiences for the group each afternoon. While After School Care is her primary role, Marianna can also be seen in supportive roles throughout the centre. Marianna holds a Diploma in Children’s Services.

Kelsey
joined Tarragindi Child Care and Development at the beginning of 2017 as an After School Care educator and room support. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Social Work through QUT. Kelsey is also studying a Certificate 3 – in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Support Staff

Priya, after commencing at  Prior Street Child Care &  Development in 2011, came to work at Tarragindi Child Care & Development as a support educator in 2012.  She is a great support assisting with all groups across the centre.  Priya, who holds a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services, has further experience caring for and guiding children through her Church and in her role as a Priest’s wife  (since 1994). She has experience as a cultural support worker for the Multicultural Development Association in Brisbane. Amanda joined Tarragindi Child Care and Development in 2019 with 24 years’ experience in early childhood education. She holds a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and a Diploma in Children’s Services.  The early childhood years are Amanda’s passion as she recognises during this time she can support children to grow and develop into confident, happy little people.  In her spare time Amanda and her family like to head to Bribie Island with their dogs (her fur babies) where they enjoy the beach.

Giovana (Assistant educators / After School care) joined us in 2020 as a student completing a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services. She is now studying a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Prior to early childhood studies, in her birth country of Brazil, Gi graduated from University with a degree in Physical Education.

Gi believes that children learn through play where they have opportunities to create, explore, discover and imagine.  She values the diversity and individuality of each child as she believes we can all learn through other people’s experiences.

 

Giovanna likes to have good conversations to share experiences and knowledge. She also loves nature, discovering new places and enjoys outdoor activities in her free time.

Daisy who holds a Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care joined us in 2020. She is passionate about developing children’s potential while providing quality care for all children.  Daisy has experience working with children from birth to school age.

Carolyn joined Tarragindi Child Care & Development in 2002. During this time she has worked with all ages from birth to school age. Carolyn is a wonderful support to our educators,  particularly enjoying putting her green thumb to work in the outdoor environments. Carolyn holds a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and a Food Safety Supervisor certificate.  She has three children of her own who keep her busy!

Mailyn has recently joined our support team. We will tell you all about Mailyn soon.

Kumari joined Tarragindi Child Care and Development in 2021. Kumari was born and raised in Sri Lanka. She holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and has been in the industry since 2013.  She enjoys spending time with children of all ages and has two grown-up children of her own. Kumari believes that she can help create a nurturing and supportive environment for the children and feels lucky to work alongside other friendly staff members at our centre.​

Akiyo who works between both our centres (Prior Street Child Care and Development & Tarragindi Child Care and Development) joined us in 2021. She is currently studying for a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood and Primary.

Akiyo, believes it is important for all children to become confident and involved learners, who grow and develop in their own time. She is flexible and supportive, providing children with reflective, open-ended play-based experiences, which foster a sense of belonging, being and becoming.  Akiyo is passionate about sustainable practises and really enjoy nature and respect animals. 

Kitchen

Alana who holds a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services, and a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate joined Tarragindi Child Care & Development in 2010. Young has completed a Kitchen Operations Course.  She joined Tarragindi in 2020. You’ll find her in the kitchen from Wednesday to Friday.  She is certainly a ‘foodie’, so much so she named her daughter after a very well known chef (Nigella).

Young has attended numerous cooking classes in Thailand and Vietnam, and has worked at various Japanese and Korean restaurants and cafes. She loves cooking, is passionate about different styles of cooking, and has a substantial library of cook books. She also loves experimenting and creating new recipes

Young strongly believes that providing nutritious meals to growing children is important and is very excited to be cooking meals for the Tarragindi children.

Kriti (on maternity leave) joined Tarragindi Child Care and Development in 2019.  She comes to us from Perth and with 4 years experience in early childhood including as a food safety supervisor and room support.  Kriti holds a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services.  She is passionate about cooking healthy, nutritious and flavoursome meals for the children with a special interest in food from different cultures.  In her spare time, Kriti enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, listening to music and watching movies.

Administration
